Singing lessons with Charles
I teach all ages and levels of singing from opera to pop and everything besides. I trained at the Royal Birmingham conservatoire in vocal and operatic performance, and following this completed a PGCE in Secondary music.
I have no minimum age for lessons but for students under the age of 8 I reserve the right to refuse lessons after a consultation lesson, if I feel that the student is not ready. Children develop at different rates and usually 6 months makes all the difference to a student who isn’t ready yet!
It doesn’t matter what music you want to sing. From Taylor Swift to Verdi, grade exams or just for fun, I will develop lessons around the learner to facilitate their progress and improvement in their chosen discipline. I focus on tone production and support with all my students to practice long-lasting and sustainable technique from the outset, laying the foundations for continued success.
My teaching is kept up to date with the latest thinking in pedagogical theory. I continue with my professional development, going to conferences and reading the latest literature to make sure that my teaching is always in step with current educational thinking.
