Guitar lessons with Charles
I teach beginner level upwards for both classical, contemporary and popular styles in both acoustic and electric guitar. I am a PGCE trained music teacher and build my lessons specifically around the student taking in to account their own musical preferences and what they want to get out of their lessons.
I have no minimum age for lessons but for students under the age of 8 I reserve the right to refuse lessons after a consultation lesson, if I feel that the student is not ready. Children develop at different rates and usually 6 months makes all the difference to a student who isn’t ready yet!
It doesn’t matter what you want to get out of your learning of the guitar, I will take that in to account if that is working towards grade exams, playing in a band, or learning to accompany yourself. The scheme of work is unique to you and will encompass use of ergonomic technique and posture, instrument care, and solid theoretical basis.
My teaching is based off of the latest research papers and theories in music teaching and keep up to date with current CPD by way of conferences and workshop days to make sure that my teaching is always evolving with the current educational thinking.
